We have a serious message to share from a parent in Lumsden Pointe about the safety of their child & parking in your neighborhood. Below is an excerpt of the parent's message to the board. "Our 11 week old infant daughter has been ill. We had a scare today in that she had stopped breathing.
An ambulance was called and she was stabilized before they left….it was too difficult to turn around so the ambulance tried to go around the loop and out the other end. I was a bit disturbed by what happened next. It had a very difficult time getting through. To top it off at least two cars pulled out in front of it! This is an ambulance with its emergency lights flashing and it's playing chicken with other cars in our neighborhood either pulling out in front of it or trying to navigate around other parked cars rather than pulling over to let it through. I'm not against cars parking on the street but when they are on opposite sides of the street from one another it gets congested. There also seems to be an excessive number of them in certain areas and many of them are next to driveways that have room to accommodate them. Our daughter is fine and she is back home safe.” Please share this story with your friends and neighbors. It is important for all of our residents’ safety to be considerate of our neighbors and adhere to the parking rules and to avoid this type of situation in the future.
